Today is weigh in day and well, even though I've been slacking off in the exercise department this last weekend and I didn't do really well with my eating, I still lost another pound...I'm down to 211 and hopefully I'll get myself back on track!
Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays I have started going to an aerobics/yoga class with some friends and we've been doing about 30 minutes of aerobics and about an hour of yoga. Yoga is so calming and yet it burns about the same amount of calories as the aerobics...it's crazy! My body is so relaxed since I started doing the yoga.
I've decided since I'm so close to it anyway, I'm going to venture on the vegetarian side of things. I have been looking into vegetarian recipes and they're not much different with the exception of meat. It also means healthier choices at restaraunts...it means I don't have to guess or feel guilty for eating this or that...most restaraunts have vegetarian on their menus now. We went to Casa the other night and we were going to do the two person chicken fajitas but I found that there was a vegetarian fajita and so I went that way and Ian got to have his Carne Asada! :-) I didn't feel that "full" feeling afterwards either. It was nice and guilt free! Speaking of that sounds like a good dinner for tomorrow night!

I decided finally...
To start blogging about my success so far with my Wii Fit and food journal. It's been two weeks officially since I've started writing down what I eat and my weight. I started out at 218 and am at 212 today! Yay! I'd say 6lbs is not bad at all for two weeks! Besides the food journal and the great motivation that the Wii Fit gives you, I have had help from two great friends...who started way before me. They've been successful as well and I'm so excited for them!
I started doing this because I was sick of feeling sluggish. Since I had my Gall Bladder out in 2002, I had changed my diet to exclude a lot of fatty foods including fried anything and beef and the fatty pork. Problem is, I wasn't losing anything. It was getting frustrating, and then I realized that I needed to get more exercise into my daily life. I decided to start saving last year for the Wii Fit and finally after several months of putting a little here and a little there onto a Wal-mart gift card, on January 1st of this year, I was able to give myself the Christmas present that would change my life. Wii Fit has changed the way I look at my days. I start every morning (with the exception of Saturday and Sunday) with some Yoga and Strength training, and then I do some type of Aerobic exercise and then end my work out with a nice 20 minute run. The rest of my day is spent feeling refreshed and not tired at all. I've noticed that on the days that I don't exercise I feel more tired and lazy...I feel like eating all day and am not motivated to get anything done at all.
I started the Food Journaling two weeks ago and have been faithful in writing every bite that I take down. I jot down my weight and how many calories I'm putting into my mouth. I have a set number that I try hard not to go over. I think that this a long with the exercise has contributed to the weigt coming off. I'm so excited that I have finally found something that works for me and am going to continue to do this. Even if I don't journal my food for the rest of my life, I believe that I've developed a mental calculator to counting calories and have realized that if I don't know what the calories are or I know it's not healthy for me, I shouldn't put it in my body.
My weigh in days are Mondays so I'll keep you updated on my progress!
